Welding is a program offered at Carter County CTC.  If you live around here, odds are you know someone who is a boilermaker, plumber, pipefitter, or at least someone that knows how to weld!  Welding is an essential skill for many careers, and you can learn the basics in our pre-apprenticeship pathway.  The courses you will take are:

• Cutting Processes and Lab

• Gas Metal Arc Welding and Lab

• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Lab

• SMAW Groove Welds with Backing Lab

Learn safety first, as you will also earn OSHA certification while enrolled in this program.  Earn college dual credit for courses to apply to post-secondary training for a career in welding, or not...it's up to you!  If you don't want to be a welder by trade after high school, but are interested in our welding program to learn the basics, that's ok too.  You won't regret your decision to take course at CCCTC!
